Developing co-workers

Various training modules and courses are organised, with both an international and local focus, within the Triodos Academy. In 2010 a visionary leadership programme, and an improved management development programme was initiated. 22 co-workers are participating in these challenging and important programs. A Values seminar, which introduces Triodos Bank values as they relate to daily work, was held twice during the year and involved 55 participants.

Other tailored training was organised in the different business units, as well as training modules provided by the Institute for Social Banking, including round table discussions covering specific disciplines and a Masters in Social Banking. A Triodos Bank participant graduated as the first student of this Masters programme.

Development costs increased, as planned, by 15% from € 1,318 to € 1,521 per co-worker.

Young Triodos

The young generation of co-workers are very important for Triodos Bank, providing a fresh perspective on the organisation and a closer connection with broader social trends around it.

A Young Triodos group organise a variety of activities during the year and are actively involved in finding solutions to some of the issues facing Triodos Bank. This year they organised an international conference for 35 young Triodos co-workers. Emphasis was placed on the effectiveness of the business banking departments to deliver growth and maintain and improve the quality of its services.

Healthy co-workers

The rate of absence due to sickness rate decreased to 1.9% in 2010 (2009: 2.6%).

The illness rate was quite high in the head office, due to several long term illnesses, most of them not work related. In total 16 cases of long term illness (2009: 21) were reported. Short term illness decreased from 1.6% in 2009 to 1.3% in 2010.
